Experimenting with gifs
July 25th, 2012 | Filed under: Graduate SchoolA classmate and I learned how to create animated GIFs during a quickfire activity today in class. We had an hour to learn how to do it and create a gif that represents our year 2 experience this summer. We had a lot of fun! The first two are by my classmate Aaron and I created the last two.
We were going for a a series that represents the different emotions and feelings we experienced during this month-long program. We alternated between nervousness, freaking out, confidence and accomplishment.
It has been a great summer! (You need to click each image to see the gif in motion.)
Resources we used to learn about and create the GIFs:

Mary, Ann here again from EDM 310 at the University of South Alabama. I am at the beginning of joining the world of technology. I have seen the term GIF, but didn’t understand it. After watching your pictures with their strange movements that made me smile, I decided to research and read about GIF. Thanks for the inspiration. Ann
Ms. Worrell,
I am a student in EDM310 and I was assigned to comment on your blog. I am so glad that you posted about using GIFs. I think that they are so funny and enjoyable to write. I see where you were going to share the resources you used to create the GIFs in your class, but I couldn’t ever find anything. I would love to learn more about creating a GIF to put onto my blog. What website did your class use to create the GIFs? I googled a few, but I never found a free generator that I liked. Thanks for sharing!

Hi! Jamie Baxter again from EDM 310 at the University of South Alabama.
I have heard of the computer term GIF before, but I never really knew much about it. After watching your videos, they made me laugh, and I want to learn more about making one.
What website did you and your classmate use to create these? I would love to use this in my classroom, and get my students to make one to experience this form of technology.
Great Post!
